The people of Eastbourne have overwhelmingly supported Eastbourne Foodbank’s Be the Life Changer 2025 appeal by donating more than more than £24,000, and the total is still rising.

Eastbourne Foodbank says it has been blown away by the incredible response from the community.

The Be the Life Changer 2025 appeal has prompted  a community-wide response to poverty in Eastbourne, with local businesses, organisations and residents joining forces to raise funds for Eastbourne Foodbank.

Jess Holliday, CEO at Eastbourne Foodbank, said: “I would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to the people of Eastbourne for their overwhelming support.

“What an amazing community we are. It is an absolute privilege to be part of that community, as we all work together to reduce poverty in our town.

“This year’s Be the Life Changer 2025 appeal follows the story of Mike and Ann. An older couple who  found it difficult to walk through the doors of the foodbank. “However, your donations helped to make it a life changing moment and ensured they were freed from needing emergency food.”

Jess said she was delighted the foodbank’s festive fundraising appeal had been so well received by the people of Eastbourne.

She added: “I want to say thank you to each and every person who has been able to donate this Christmas  – you are all life changers.”

The Be the Life Changer 2025 fundraising appeal runs until December 31. To watch Mike and Ann’s story and make a donation visit: https://eastbourne.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/be-the-life-changer-christmas-appeal/
